Turning popular video game icon, Jasmine Asia, into her very own video game character using styling and photography, as well as creating 3D art and working with an illustrator for the backgrounds.
Jasmine Asia is an inspiration to many women of colour who are interested in the gaming industry and sci-fi/fantasy culture, such as myself. I have admired her for years and decided to reach out to her for this project, and as suspected she was extremely excited to take part. Using photography and styling, I turned Jasmine into her own custom video game character, with her own aesthetic and levels created by myself and the assistance of Stephanie Li and Stephanie June using 3D art and digital painting. Jasmine’s character also features multiple different skin options to choose from. As well as a limited addition Jasmine Asia Figurine.
